Locum Paediatric ConsultantWhipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust Group is looking for a full time Locum Paediatric Consultant on a 12-month fixed term contract, who is a General Paediatrician who can cover both acute Paediatrics and neonates. The post alsoincludes 1PA for safeguarding work as the deputy to the named doctor for safeguarding. The Paediatric department is based at Whipps Cross Hospital and is part of the Children's Clinical Board and Network within Barts Health, you will be joining a department that currently has 14 Consultant Acute Physicians.
Main duties of the job
The Paediatric unit works with the Children's Home Care Nursing Team, based at Wood Street Child Development Centre. The team supports children of all ages at home who have medical needs e.g. gastrostomy, diabetes, oxygen dependency, daily IVantibiotics, home ventilation and end of life care. We also work with the Hospital at home service who allow early discharge from hospital as the care continues at home with up to 3 times a day nursing visit.
This is a fixed term (12 months post) to join the Consultant workforce here at Whipps Cross. We are looking for candidates who are general Paediatricians who can cover both acute Paediatrics and neonates.
They will also have responsibilities covering the Paediatric Assessment Unit on a rota basis.
