Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Scheduling Department at The Royal London Hospital.

We are recruiting to 0.6 WTE permanent posts and we are looking for enthusiastic, hard-working, dynamic and motivated Schedulers to join our team.

You will be joining a fun and friendly department with a strong focus on improving patient services.

Main duties of the job

To ensure provision of comprehensive and efficient booking and schedulingService for patients that adhere to the Trusts Access policy with national and local Access targets.

The role requires the post holder to develop efficient and effective systems of work to ensure that patients experience good communication, choice and a personal and responsive service.

To provide a consistent approach across the trust, standard operating procedures (SOP) will describe how the functions of this role will be carried out along with the timescales that will be adhered.

Desirable

  • 5 GCSE's Minimum A-C including English and Maths or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Previous NHS experience in a role with CRS, RTT, 18 weeks experience or equivalent administrative competence developed in an associated organisation.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the Department and Division.
  • The ability to communicate with patients in an empathetic manner regarding their treatment and procedures.
  • Can demonstrate an enthusiastic, approachable and friendly manner.

  • Competent use of the following Windows, Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to store data/information safely and correctly.
  • Flexible approach to the planning and co-ordination of patient pathways to maximise use of theatre sessions

  • Ability to monitor the quality of own work.
  • Able to recognise own limits and work within those limits of competence.
