Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious, motivated and experienced Radiographer to co-lead the Core Services team. This position is one of two X-ray Operational Lead Radiographers who will be expected to jointly manage the Core Services team. The working hours are 8.45am - 5pm Monday to Friday. There is an option to join the on-call roster to cover evening and weekend shifts as part of this role.

The Core Services Department has 3 digital Siemens x-ray rooms, 1 brand new Siemens fluoroscopy room, 10 digital mobile x-ray systems (7 Carestream and 3 Phillips) and a brand new Xograph dental x-ray room. It is an exciting time as we recently replaced our 3 x-ray rooms for top of the range Siemens X.pree systems.

Location - St. Bartholomew's Hospital which is in the heart of the City of London- St. Paul's.

Applicants for all posts above must hold a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers and HCPC registration.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a specialist diagnostic practitioner for Core Services. The aim ofthis role is to:o To manage an imaging or radiography service in a discrete unit.o To assist in the provision of an efficient radiology service.o To undertake regular audit of their own practice and of other Radiographerso To work as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnosticservice.o To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to patients.o To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development(CPD).

Patients will present with a full range of complex conditions, the post holder will be responsible forensuring the service performs the appropriate diagnostic radiography procedure to support thepatient's diagnosis and treatment.This role is to provide visible clinical and Professional Leadership to Radiographers, Radiographic staff andstudents within the imaging service, based within Imaging at St Bartholomew's Hospital, the post holder will beresponsible for ensuring that all quality targets in regards to efficient and effective imaging of patients is undertaken to a wide range of patients on a day to day basis optimising the use of available resources.The post holder will be an ambassador for Plain X-ray Radiography, ensuring that we adopt the bestprinciples, with agreed robust operational and training procedures in place.
