Job summary

Barts Health NHS Trust is currently one of the largest NHS Trust in England and encompasses five hospitals based in Central and East of London. The Trust is comprised of the Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew's Hospital, The Royal London, Whipps Cross, Newham University and Mile end Hospitals. We also provide cardiac physiology services at University College London Hospital. In keeping with the recommendations of the Richards Review of Diagnostics (2020) we are developing a Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) at Mile End Hospital. The creation of the CDC is part of wider programme to reform and renew the delivery of diagnostics to meet increasing demand for services. CDCs will also facilitate patients having their diagnostic tests performed closer to home and within the local community and is open for 12 hours a day over 7 days a week.

The north-east London (NEL) community diagnosis centre service provision is anticipated to include the following services:

The targeted lung health check screening programme (TLHC)

The prostate screening programme

General Ultrasound service

Cardiac Imaging

Cardiorespiratory Diagnostics

We are currently seeking a forward thinking, dynamic, motivated individuals for a full time post at Barts Health NHS Trust. The post will be based at CDC at Mile End Hospital with rotation to other sites within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a key member of the non-invasive services at CDC focusing ECG and ambulatory monitor pathways. The service will run 12 hours a day across 7 days, therefore the successful candidate will do 12 hour shifts on any of these days.

The post holder will be required to perform foundation level tasks unsupervised and to assist senior staff as required. In addition the post holder may be required to supervise students.
