Plastic Surgery Clinical Nurse Specialist - Hands

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the plastic surgery team at the Royal London Hospital as a band 6 CNS with a specific focus on hands

You will be a RGN with at least 2 years post registration experience, preferably in orthopaedics or plastics.

You will be working in a busy, energetic, fast paced environment and have excellent communication and organisational skills.

You will be working alongside the multidisciplinary team, including trauma nurse co-ordinators, hand therapists, junior doctors and orthoplastic hand consultants

You will be required to manage a variety of hand and wrist trauma as well as elective surgery, and will be an integral member of the team.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality, individualised care to patients / clients and relatives / carers attending Barts Health through the elective and trauma hand pathway for plastic surgery.

The post holder will work as an expert to deliver a specialist service to trauma and elective hand patients across Barts Health Trust in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including plastics trauma coordinators, hand therapists and orthoplastic hand consultants.

You will ensure an efficient and well-managed pathway for these patients from referral to discharge, in line with local and national performance targets.
