CONSULTANT NEPHROLOGIST (8PAs)

Applications are invited for a Consultant Nephrologist post (8PA) in the Department of Renal Medicine and Transplantation at the Royal London Hospital within Barts Health NHS Trust. This post would be ideally suited for any individual wishing to develop an interest in peritoneal dialysis and general nephrology. The successful applicant will also join the renal-lupus clinic.

Main duties of the job

The department is one of the largest and busiest in the UK that provides comprehensive whole-pathway renal & transplant care from the hub in Whitechapel to six networked kidney centres. It has the largest peritoneal dialysis programme with a strong academic tradition under the leadership of Dr Stan Fan. We have also been recognised as a Lupus UK centre of excellence. There is also a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching. The post will provide unique opportunities to work across sites aimed at improving outcomes for our patients in East London.

  • Widespread broad based knowledge of all aspects of renal medicine, dialysis and transplantation

  • Able to undertake Native and transplant renal biopsies independently without supervision.
