Job summary
We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic Clinical Fellow (ST3+ Level equivalent) to a post in the Respiratory Department at St Bartholomew's Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust to start October 2024. This will be a 6 month fixed term post from October 2024 - end of March 2025.
This post is ideal for an aspiring respiratory physician. It will provide the perfect platform from which to experience and display all the skills expected of a specialty trainee.
There will be opportunities to complete clinical audit and small scale research projects with a number of active clinical researchers within the department.
You will be taught how to perform bronchoscopies and would be expected to require limited supervision by the end of your post.
You will be part of a large team of SpRs covering respiratory medicine with an active teaching programme and specialist Clinics and MDTs.
You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council and we encourage applications from trainees currently holding a respiratory training number.MRCP or equivalent is essential.

Main duties of the job
On discussion with the successful candidate, dependent upon the expertise and training needs there is scope for this post to involve the full range of Acute Respiratory, General Respiratory and Tertiary Respiratory work as well as Acute Medicine.
The post holder will join a full shift rota which is compliant with the New Contract, EWTD and the New Deal.The post holder will need to demonstrate professional excellence and the ability to deliver effective care.
She/he will need to agree levels of activity and throughput with the Clinical Lead and undertake appraisal as per Trust policy.The post holder will be required to adhere to the Trust's policy on Maintaining Medical Excellence and to be committed to maintaining their standard of performance by keeping their knowledge and skills up to date.
