Job summary
The post holder is part of the team responsible for the delivery and facilitation of core Trust programmes. These include our Induction portfolio and accredited ILM and City & Guilds programmes. In addition they will support the L&D Facilitators as they work closely with People team leads across the Trust's sites to identify and help address training and development priorities. The post holder will also provide a range of bespoke programmes and manage a number of projects to support the delivery of the Education Academy's business plan .
As part of the L&D team the post holder will help to ensure that our programmes are of a high quality, relevant and reflective of our Trust values by using and developing robust evaluation and feedback processes.
The nature of this role will involve close and regular contact with staff in all disciplines and levels of the organisation as we provide learning and development programmes on a Trust wide basis.
Main duties of the job
Operational Training Delivery
- Design, deliver and evaluate quality learning and development initiatives for example management and leadership development programmes that meet the needs of Barts Health staff and are aligned to the priorities of the Trust.
- Using an evidenced-based approach keep up to date with best practice, research and developments in leadership and management, healthcare and the wider NHS and weave these into our programme portfolio
- Work with external facilitators and training providers for specific learning and training programmes ensuring the Trust's vision, values and priorities are central to any commissioning/delivery.
- To promote the Trust's equality, diversity and inclusion strategy through everything they do.
To be part of the team marking delegate assessments for programmes accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and City & Guilds (C&G). These include our leadership, management and coaching qualifications and the Award in.

- Provide educational expertise to the TEL/VLE team to assist with the development of learning experiences using instructional design and technology to create bite size learning that increase the accessibility of our programmes
Information Management
- To liaise with the Education Academy administration teams to ensure all relevant course attendance data is monitored and where issues identified draw up plans for addressing these.
- Ensure all learner identifiable data is stored according to Trust policy including hard and soft copy of assessment results, application forms and programme registrations.
- To evaluate and assess internal training using a recognised evaluation model. To liaise with the Learning & Development Managers on reporting impact on achieving overall corporate objectives and/or service improvement .
