Barts Health NHS Trust and St Bartholomew's Hospital invites you to apply for this exciting opportunity to join the wider Electrophysiology team as a specialist in Grown Up Congenital Heart (GUCH) disease.

The Electrophysiology department is the biggest in the UK and one of the biggest in Europe. Electrophysiology along with Interventional cardiology make up one of the three directorates within the Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew's Hospital. The Barts Heart Centre is the biggest in the UK with its complement of 10 catherisation labs (5 of which are dedicated to EP) and 10 cardiothoracic theatres

Main duties of the job

This appointment is for a Locum Consultant Electrophysiologist with a special interest in GUCH, based at St Bartholomew's Hospital. There will also be clinic responsibility at Whipps Cross Hospital.

The appointee will join the existing team to provide specialist care to this growing population of patients, while supporting clinical / laboratory research as part of the division's commitment to the goals of the Barts Heart Centre and St Bartholomew's Hospital, and raise departmental profiles through teaching and education.

The appointee will be expected to be experienced in performing simple and complex ablation in GUCH patients with atrial or ventricular arrhythmias, and be fully familiar with the use of 3D mapping systems. The successful candidate will also be expected to be an experienced operator in device implantation including cardiac resynchronisation therapy.

The appointee will work a 10 PA job plan.
