The Radiology department in Newham University Hospital is a busy, modern and well-equipped department with 7 fully digital general X-ray rooms (DR) and 1 modern Fluoroscopy screening room (bought but under installation), six ultrasound rooms, two state-of-the-art CT scanners with spectral imaging capabilities and AI post-processing, wide-bore 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner, and a modern state of the art digital mammography unit equipped with tomosynthesis and biopsy module, plus satellite units in maternity therapies, and Shrewsbury road. We are a completely paperless department with a cross-trust HIS, PACS, RIS and voice recognition (VR) system for reporting.

Main duties of the job

This post is for a Locum Consultant General Radiologist at Barts Health NHS Trust with a sub-speciality interest in Neuroradiology, Head and Neck Imaging.

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our existing team of radiologists to help deliver the service and to support the active training programme. The post will be primarily based at Newham University Hospital, Plaistow, East London. Post-holder may be expected to cover activities on multiple sites within the trust, as required. Commitments will include relevant MDTs, imaging-guided procedures, ultrasonography, plain radiograph, CT, and MRI reporting.

Applicants must have full GMC Registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for inclusion within six months of the interview date[LS1].

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent up-to-date general radiology skills, as well as having a sub-speciality interest in Neuroradiology and Head and Neck Imaging
