Job summary

The Royal London Hospitals Dermatology Department has an interesting new opportunity for Healthcare Assistant, Band 2. The Dermatology Unit is a busy, dynamic department operating a large number of outpatient clinics, 3 minor surgery rooms and a large day treatment area, within the purpose-built department in Whitechapel. We are a large team and offer a range of dermatological services. We are looking for an organised and focused individual to assist in the daily running of the department so ensuring high quality patient focused care.

You should be a proven team player who fits in with a collaborative work environment as well as possessing excellent communications skills and be comfortable speaking to and liaising with people at all different levels.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a friendly dynamic nursing team and assist them in the day to day logistical challenges.

Main duties of the job

To post will support clinical activity within the Dermatology Department at The Royal London Hospital , this includes the out-patient clinic area, the minor surgery area and the Day Treatment area / Phototherapy area.

To provide support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals by giving direct patient care and providing other support and administrative services under the direct supervision of a registered practitioner.

To assist in the maintenance of a healthy and hygienic environment.

To undertake customer care training and implement best practice when dealing with patients and other members of staff.

To work flexibly as part of a team.

To practice in accordance with the Trusts standards and statutory requirements.
