Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated analyst to join our business intelligence team. This role will be responsible for providing executive, divisional, and speciality level reports for Whipps Cross, bringing together consolidated views that highlight, in visually pleasing ways, the key areas the management team need to focus on. This role is very dynamic with the successful candidate able to engage with all services provided at Whipps Cross.

You will be representing the BIU team at Executive level meetings through the support and assurance framework. Through close collaboration with the Quality Improvement team, you will be creating performance frameworks that help shape the service provision at Whipps Cross.

This role will involve utilising analytics tools beyond SQL and Excel to produce analysis and forecasting in more innovative ways including access to R, Python and Qlik Sense.

Main duties of the job

This post provides a pivotal role within Whipps Cross hospital. Working with the team members to create best in class analytics. Engaging with operational and clinical teams to ensure that performance frameworks are useful, accurate, actionable, and insightful.

The role encompasses the whole analytical pipeline from data extraction, through validation and into deployment. The post holder will be working with the Lead Analyst to lead on the reporting and monitoring of various performance related measures to improving patient care and their journey.

The post holder will be expected to work directly with senior departmental leads across the hospital to ensure that data, commentary, and bespoke analysis is provided in a timely manner to support the monthly support and assurance framework.

To deputise for the Site Informatics Business partner in high profile projects and executive level meetings.

The post holder will be expected to have a thorough understanding of national and local Performance Indicators and targets the Trust is required to adhere too.

To work in partnership with Site Clinical and Operational teams, Finance, Contract Operational Managers to ensure that clinical activity is being processed and monitored robustly so that patient pathway is improved and variation in care reduced.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent through working at a senior level
  • Working knowledge of Productivity Metrics, KPIs
  • Extensive specialist knowledge of performance management either within the NHS or a sector of comparable complexity.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in an expert capacity with clinicians and commissioners to inform and influence outcomes.
  • Extensive experience of interpreting complex information, distilling key messages and themes and presenting a position and options to senior internal and external audiences
  • Extensive experience of complex and successful stakeholder management
  • Experience of designing and undertaking end to end analysis that includes data collection, analysis and presentation of information.
  • Experience of developing predictive analytic models to forecast future activity and assess demand and capacity.
