We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Technical Services Team. This role will provide professional, clinical and technical support to our Technical Services Unit. You will lead on Parenteral Nutrition for (adults & paediatrics) and support Sterile Batch, Non-sterile Batch and CIVAS manufacture.
This is an excellent opportunity that will allow you to specialise in Technical Services while maintaining your clinical expertise.
Pharmacy Technical Services (PTS) is part of Barts Health NHS Trust. You will work across three sites including St Bartholomew's Hospital, The Royal London Hospital and Whips Cross University Hospital. The sites combined provide cytotoxics, parenteral nutrition, sterile manufactured products, CIVAS, Pre-packs and Specials to a variety of wards and clinics within the hospitals and to over 140 customers throughout the UK and Ireland.
Main duties of the job
You will provide Professional Pharmacist support to Technical Services i.e. Chemotherapy, TPN, CIVAS and Specials and Clinical Pharmacy services to associated wards / clinical areas e.g. cancer (medical and haematology), nutrition, paediatrics and gastroenterology.
You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Pharmacists in providing a safe and efficient service for all sites of Barts Health NHS Trust and external customers and be professionally responsible for the direct clinical and pharmaceutical duties you undertake, with the section managers being responsible for the overall service for that given area. You will ensure the Quality Management System is maintained in accordance with the license requirements as documented in procedures and policies and aid development in response to changes in regulations and legislation and to improve production processes.
You will work within operational parameters, agreed standard procedures and systems of work at all times thus ensuring a high level of GMP and safety is maintained. You will undertake projects in support of quality improvement, operational efficiency and cost reduction programs.
