Job summary

The Labour Ward Team at the Royal London Hospital are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the role of Housekeeper. Previous experience is desirable but not mandatory as training is provided. Good working knowledge of ICT and excellent interpersonal skills are vitally important.

The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis.

Working hours are Monday-Friday 0800-1600.

Flexible working, including compressed hours considered.

Main duties of the job

We are a busy maternity unit looking for positive, enthusiastic and motivated people to join our maternity services team.

Under the direction of the Registered Midwife, you will work with all members of the multidisciplinary team, to provide the highest standards of patient care within maternity services.

The Housekeeper is part of the care team that ensure that mothers and babies have a good experience whilst on the labour ward. The successful post holder will ensure that the ward is well stocked with vital consumables and supplies. This includes that all equipment is cleaned to the highest standard following local infection control policies and ensures that equipment remains in good working order, reporting any faults or failures to the relevant departments.

As a housekeeper you can make a real difference to the patients experience in hospital by providing support and a friendly face to patients during their stay.
