Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity available for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to join our Diabetes Department as an Appointments Clerk/Receptionist at Mile End Hospital. This role involves extensive interaction with patients and colleagues from various professions, requiring you to provide clerical and receptionist support while ensuring the department runs smoothly.
As the primary point of contact for patients, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate demographic information in patient records and the administration system. This position demands precision and efficiency, with a focus on promptly recording bookings, transfers, discharges, and outpatient appointments in real-time on CRS and other relevant systems.
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player capable of managing their workload effectively, with excellent telephone etiquette. Computer proficiency, exceptional customer service, communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. Previous experience in a clinical administration role is advantageous.
Moreover, you should possess the ability to balance tact and assertiveness, maintaining composure and patience in a sometimes-stressful environment. Experience in a high-volume patient/customer-focused role, particularly within an acute hospital setting, is preferred.
