Job summary

We are looking to appoint a Service Manager for the Urology & Vascular department at Barts Health NHS Trust. The post will be based at the Royal London Hospital.

The Service Manager role demands excellent prioritisation and organisational skills, operational management, and a collaborative approach to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services.

The Service Manager works closely with colleagues across a range of staff groups to maintain high standards of operational and strategical delivery and patient care.

Main duties of the job

  • In conjunction with the Urology & Vascular leadership teams, lead the delivery of a safe, efficient and effective patient centered service.
  • In conjunction with the Surgery triumvirate leadership teams, lead the delivery of a safe, efficient and effective patient centered service.
  • Plan and manage the implementation of projects to modernise services and improve facilities and working practices to meet organisational and service delivery plans.
  • On a daily basis with the senior nursing teams ensure efficient and effective operational delivery and compliance with organisational KPIs.
  • Ensure strong financial performance against plans through the identification of problems at an early stage and the initiation of corrective action.
  • Ensure effective communication systems are in place right through the department and between and across other relevant service groups and hospital teams, where relationships are key to the delivery of safe and effective care to patients.
