Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for 1 part-time senior health records clerk to work within the Health Records department at Newham hospital on a permanent contract.The post holder will have excellent communication and computer skills. Good keyboard skills and computer literacy are required as this post involves using the Cerner Millennium Care Records System (CRS).
The successful applicant will have experience of working in a similar capacity; knowledge and experience of working for a team is essential and experience of working in an NHS setting would also be desirable.
You must be able to perform well under pressure and the ability to work flexibly either as part of a team or using one's own initiative to meet deadlines.
Being proactive in learning and development as well as mandatory training is essential.
Main duties of the job
- To ensure that an efficient service is provided to all service users.
- To support and assist Healthcare Records Manager in line managing the health records staff in all areas of the department.
- To assist in providing a professional, comprehensive and efficient health records service to the Trust's clinical services.
- To ensure adherence to the Trust's Health Records Policy at all time
- To process the 'Subject Access Requests' in the time period specified. To deal with the receiving and sending of post. To deal with telephone queries from solicitors and patients in a timely manner. Log and maintain the data information appropriately.
