Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join Barts health Trust as a highly specialist rehabilitation physiotherapist in the Specialist Medicine Team at the Royal London Hospital.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual that is passionate about delivering evidence based, innovative, rehabilitative care to patients living with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions. The team covers the Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary, Renal wards and HDU, Endocrinology & Haematology, Respiratory and Cardiology wards including all neurological and stroke outliers. Successful candidates with the clinical leads will oversee service development and will have knowledge of local and national guidance and policies relating to acute rehabilitation services.
This opportunity is suitable for an experienced band 6 who is ready for the next step in their career or an existing band 7 looking to broaden their experience. The post is supported by a clinical specialist physiotherapist and has access to a range of developmental resources such as Barts education academy and NHS elect.
Post holders must have compassionate leadership skills to effectively lead an inclusive and diverse team that reflects the trusts WeCare values.

Main duties of the job
To work in a diverse multicultural environment in a leadership role within the specialist medicine team to deliver high quality, patient focussed care
To take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients living with long term conditions with complex rehabilitation needs across the acute medical wards including Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary, Renal, Endocrinology & Haematology, Respiratory and Cardiology
To take a lead role in the advances assessment and treatment of outlying neurological and stroke patients on the medical wards including leading on facilitating their transition closer to home
To support with clinical leads in service development leading on innovation and quality improvement in line with local and national healthcare priorities
To be responsible for the induction, supervision, learning and development of rotational staff within the team.
To be jointly responsible with clinical leads for overseeing clinical governance within the team including but not limited to managing clinical risk, staff development, and rota management.
To support the overnight respiratory on-call services
