Our OPS (Older People's Services) team is growing, and we would like you to be a part of our fantastic workforce. We are advertising for a 12-month fixed term Trust Doctor (ST3+equivalent) post to cover the Ainslie rehabilitation unit in the service for the period from May 2024 to May 2025. The Ainslie rehabilitation unit is based in the north of Chingford and is separate from Whipps Cross Hospital. This post will sit within the department of Older People's Services at Whipps cross who are recruiting on behalf of the Northeast London foundation trust (NELFT).

Main duties of the job

Barts Health Group is being re-developed to be a centre of excellence for Geriatric Medicine.The department provides for a broad spectrum of sub-specialtyareas including Frailty, Acute Geriatrics, Ortho-Geriatrics, Surgical Liaison, Psychiatry Liaison, outpatients, and Comprehensive GeriatricAssessment Clinics.The department regularly sees a rich mixture of pathology and complex psycho-social issues. The local population contains a significant level of frailty with high rates of dementia and associated delirium.

There may be an opportunity for the post holder to rotate to Whipps cross hospital, subject to the availability of a suitable vacancy at Whipps cross hospital.

  • Current ALS certificate

Desirable

  • Higher trainee-equivalent experience in Geriatric Medicine Geriatric sub-specialty experience/rehabilitat ion medicine

  • Detailed knowledge of Geriatrics and G(I)M, rehabilitation medicine specialist skills required for this post
  • Knowledge of multidisciplinary clinical audit/quality improvement and demonstrable commitment to improving quality of care to patients
