Band 7- Clinical Nurse Specialist Lymphoma and Stem Cell Transplant - StBartholomew's Hospital
We have an exciting opportunity for an additional band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our CNS team. The successful applicant should be an experienced HaematoOncology nurse with excellent communication skills and a good understanding of the Lymphoma treatment pathway. The major element of the CNS role is to work as the patient's Key Worker to support, inform and coordinate the care of patients with Lymphoma including supporting the patient through Stem Cell Transplant
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in the Specialist Haemato-Oncology Team and will be well supported both by their CNS colleagues and Consultants who work collaboratively and are keen to develop the team. There are 12 Haemato-Oncology CNSs within the Trust, whom work closely together to provide a wide range of specialist support including nurse led follow up and transplant coordination.In the Barts Health Cancer Service there are ample opportunities for learning and developing skills and we support nurses in their professional development.Our Lymphoma CNS team support patients throughout the patient pathway at Barts Cancer Centre; including diagnosis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, stem cell transplant and working within the MDT
We work closely with The Royal London Hospital where Renal, Dental and Neuro Surgical Services are based. Coordination of the patient pathway is a key element of this role as is, the development of a network of close and effective relationships across the trust and referring hospital teams.
