Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time Sexual Health Advisor Admin Assistant

The All East Sexual Health Team is thrilled to announce a compelling full-time opportunity for a dynamic individual to join us as a Sexual Health Advisor Admin Assistant. In this role, you will be a pivotal part of our team, providing essential administration support to not only the sexual health advisory team but also the outreach team and the HIV health advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Results Management: Take an active role in results management across the sexual health service, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling patient information.
  • Remote Patient Follow-Up: Support the health advisory team in remote patient follow-up, including patient recall, treatment checks, and confirmation of partner notification.
  • Referral Pathways: Work in partnership with external community and statutory partners to ensure seamless referral pathways are in place, supporting patients into and out of sexual health services.

Main Duties:

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the health advisory team, contributing to the smooth operation of daily activities.
  • STI Management: Ensure that all patients diagnosed with, or at ongoing risk of, sexually transmitted infections are appropriately managed or referred to the health advisor.
  • Referral Coordination: Assist in managing referrals and effectively signpost patients and professionals following relevant service pathways.

Main duties of the job

This role provides taking an active role in results management across the sexual health network, supports the health advisor team in remote patient follow-up (including patient recall, treatment checks and confirmation of partner notification) and provides administration support for our outreach services and GP/ pharmacy/ community forums. The role also involves working in partnership with the health advisor team to ensure suitable referral pathways are in place to support patients into and out of the sexual health services with our external community partners.

  • Minimumof NVQ level 3, Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification level.
  • A good level of medical terminology acquired through education, training or work experience.
  • ECDL or equivalent experience i.e. experience of a range of IT packages such as word, excel, outlook and powerpoint
  • BASHH STIF training or willingness to attend

Desirable

  • Supervisory or office management skills

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working within health-related services
  • Experience of working with patients face-to-face and/ or remotely
  • Understanding of personal health and safety responsibilities
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Desirable

  • Experience with a range of IT packages, e.g. CRS and EPR
  • Experience in results management and/ or partner notification

Knowledge

  • Clinical knowledge of contraceptive and sexual health care
