Job summary
An exciting, fixed term opportunity has arisen for a supervisor to join the Imaging Department based at Whipps Cross Hospital. This post holder will be responsible for the day to day on site supervision and will need to support our admin lead to manage a large admin and clerical team, comprised of receptionists and schedulers spanning across various imaging modalities including CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology and Ultrasound.
This supervisor role will need to have previous experience of working within a similar scheduling environment and has a strong proven knowledge of hospital patient systems; CRS, EPR, Sectra RISe/PACS or similar.Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience and knowledge of national diagnostic, referral to treat (RTT) waiting times and experience with pathway validation would be advantage.
You will need to be a confident and clear communicator possessing excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills with extensive experience in a senior administration role. We also require you to have detailed knowledge of administrative procedures and be able to prioritize and plan your own work efficiently. You must be confident in leading a team of admin staffs and able to work under pressure in our very busy environment which is essential for this role.

Main duties of the job
This post is responsible for the day to day on site supervision of the scheduling and receptionist staff ensuring completion of administrative and scheduling tasks within Radiology including; CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Fluoroscopy and Interventional Radiology.As a senior scheduler you will require previous experience scheduling imaging appointments and will have competent knowledge of CRS and RIS/ PACS Sectra. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that workload is delegated and completed in line with NHS standards, access policies and national diagnostic waiting times. The post holder will act as the first line of support for; receptionists/schedulers, patient complaints handing and provide resolution by acting as the first line of escalation in response to patient or internal queries. This supervisory role will require working closely with the admin lead and escalating issues to management team or designated persons. The purpose of this role is to support the admin lead by providing general oversight of a large A&C team and tasks, monitoring patient waiting lists and reporting back to management the various aspects of service such as; requested order figures, staffing levels, sickness, complaints and capability concerns.
