An exciting opportunity has arisen which would be suited to a highly motivated, innovative, and forward-thinking individual to join the team at the Royal London Dental Hospital, Whitechapel, in the role of Dental Nurse Tutor/Practice Development Nurse.
The post holder will assist the Lead Practice Development Dental Nurse (LPDDN) in delivering effective and efficient education and development strategies for the Dental team and trainee dental nurses at the Royal London Dental Hospital in Whitechapel, and Dental Outreach sites. The postholder will be mainly based at Whitechapel but may be expected to travel to outreach sites in Leytonstone, Isle of Dogs, Stratford and Hackney.
The post holder is expected to contribute to and assist with standard setting, regular auditing, coordinating, and supporting the management and delivery of in-house education programmes, including teaching and assessments for registered and non- registered colleagues. The post holder will be involved with the induction, orientation, teaching and assessment for registered and unregistered staff.
The Practice Development Nurse will be responsible in delivering effective and efficient education and development strategies for both registered and unregistered members of the dental team.
Main duties of the job
To support the Lead PDDN in the development, delivery and training provision of the NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing for Trainee Dental Nurses
Responsible for marking of the NEBDN Record of Experience
To support the Lead PDDN in the development, delivery and training provision of post qualifications for Qualified Dental Nurses
Planning, organising and delivering theoretical and clinical activities/assessments with learners, which take into account individual learning styles
Ensuring candidate competencies are developed within occupational areas and assessed against national standards. The post holder will act as a resource for all staff to maintain clinical practice that is evidence based and patient centred
Assist with facilitation of Continuing Professional Development activities for Qualified Dental Nurses in line with current GDC Standards and requirements
