Job summary
The Urgent Treatment Centre at Newham has an opportunity for an experienced and committed individual to join the nurse led team at this busy centre which is co-located within the Emergency Department. In return we will ensure you receive support and development to enable you to deliver high standards of patient-centred care and progress to become an autonomous Urgent Care Practitioner.
The nurse will be supported by the Urgent Care Practitioner team in triaging, streaming and requesting x-rays and prescribing.
The practitioners in the Urgent Care Centre provide assessment, diagnosis and definitive management of a range of minor injury and illness presentations to both adults and children over 1 year. The staff are able to refer to all relevant specialties and enjoy a close working relationship with the Emergency Department.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will:
- Be committed to the delivery of excellence in Urgent Care
- 5 years post registration experience and 3 years in an Emergency department, Urgent care Centre or minor injuries unit.
- You will need to be either: An Emergency Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Be flexible and reliable.
