Finance Manager, St Bartholomew's Hospital - Band 8A
An opportunity to work with the management team of St Bartholomew's Hospital, the renowned centre of excellence for cardiac and cancer care with a deep history of innovation and excellence in care.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Finance and supporting the Head of Finance, you will manage a team of accountants to ensure the provision of high quality financial management and financial reporting information as well as providing day-to-day expert advice and support. To succeed, you'll be a qualified accountant with strong financial management, ideally gained within an NHS environment. You'll have excellent leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. You'll champion best practice, look for ways we can continuously improve and relish the challenge of working as part of a close team to drive financial performance across this large and complex Trust. We are looking for someone who will share our passion to make a difference and for continuous improvement.

Main duties of the job
You will be required to prepare detailed, consolidated monthly financial performance reports after developing a thorough understanding of the service areas. You will provide leadership and support to the financial management team and liaise with other financial services teams. You will provide high quality advice in respect of income, contracting, service line reporting. You will be responsible for the development of annual financial plans, support the service in identifying and monitoring cost savings. You will appraise and set objectives for direct reports, ensure appropriate training for staff and participate in CPD.
