Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team as our service is constantly growing to support the needs of our patients.
The successful candidate will be trained in-house and will also attend manufacturing training courses to ensure they are growing and understanding the changing needs of dialysis so that we maintain a high standard of service supporting the clinical team and patients.
The technical team provides support and technical back up to the Royal London Hospital which covers the North East London service. Our trust covers a number of hospitals including Whipps Cross, Newham, Queens and King George as well as a small unit in Barts hospital and also provides cover for patients who dialyse at home.
The post holder will work as an integral part of the Renal technical Service Team. They will learn to assist in the supporting, repair and maintenance of a range of complex renal equipment under the care of the Renal Department and to support work of the department.
The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of medical equipment to the renal department i.e. equipment serviced to manufacturer guidelines according to PPM schedule, perform equipment repairs, as required, in a timely manner, provide technical support to the Renal Department, and be able to communicate effectively across many disciplines within this role, together with other specified tasks to meet patient and Renal Department needs.
Main duties of the job
Learn to provide a quality assured technical service that gives full technical support to renal units across all sites of the service, and to all home patients.
Learn to provide technical and scientific advice to the renal department in all aspects of dialysis equipment management.
Learn to perform renal technical work as a member of the team.
