Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated analyst to join our business intelligence team. This role will be responsible for providing executive, site and divisional level performance reports for the Trust, bringing together consolidated views that highlight in visually pleasing ways, the key areas the management team need to focus on. This role will have a specific focus on the emergency care services at the Trust but there will be flexibility to get involved with other areas as well to ensure the role is as dynamic as possible.

This role will involve utilising analytics tools beyond SQL and Excel to produce analysis and forecasting in more innovative ways including access to R, Python and Qlik Sense.

Main duties of the job

The business intelligence unit has access to various analytic tools and contains a range of skills and expertise which makes it a great team to join further your career in an analytic role. The reporting technology team manages some of the main reporting layers that our customer base use, including our Qilk sense reporting platform and trust integrated performance report. BIU team members are encouraged to develop new skills and explore the use of technology to continually improve information we provide and allow the freedom for individuals to develop themselves.

Essential

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent through working at a senior level
  • Working knowledge of Productivity Metrics, KPIs
  • Extensive specialist knowledge of performance management either within the NHS or a sector of comparable complexity.

Skills

Essential

  • High level numeracy and analytical skills; ability to draw conclusions from combinations of qualitative and quantitative information sources and present in a concise manner
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative solutions

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in an expert capacity with clinicians and commissioners to inform and influence outcomes.
  • Extensive experience of interpreting complex information, distilling key messages and themes and presenting a position and options to senior internal and external audiences
  • Extensive experience of complex and successful stakeholder management
  • Experience of designing and undertaking end to end analysis that includes data collection, analysis and presentation of information.
  • Experience of developing predictive analytic models to forecast future activity and assess demand and capacity.
