Job summary

We are currently recruiting for (1) post at Senior Clinical Fellow (ST8 or post-CCT Equivalent) in Neurosurgery for a twelve month period in the first instance, although longer appointments can be arranged for the successful candidate following a suitable trial period. The candidate will be working in a Royal College of Surgeons approved Fellowship: The Sir Hugh Cairns Complex Spinal Surgery Fellow involving experience in both neurosurgery and orthopaedic spinal disciplines. There is a dedicated in-house consultant led neurosurgical teaching programme*, and successful applicants will be supported in their broader professional and career development, particularly with reference to CCT and CESR. This would be a good opportunity for the post-holder to consolidate their CV, in preparation for application to consultant posts.

This includes answering referrals and performing emergency and urgent operations. It is expected that the spinal fellow will be non-resident on-call for general neurosurgery out of hours and will be free of general neurosurgical on call commitments during the day.
