Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Consultant Plastic Surgeon based at The Royal London. You will be joining a current body of ten substantive and six locum consultant posts within the Plastic Surgery Department. We have a well-established plastic surgery unit which serves numerous spokes from the main base at the Royal London Hospital. This post will focus on lower limb, specifically Trauma, Microvascular Surgery and Lower Limb Reconstruction and will focus on joint orthoplastics cases.
Main duties of the job
The Royal London Hospital is the primary location with weekly orthoplastics clinic and weekly orthoplastics operating. Extensive experience in working within an MTC environment and microsurgery will be essential. The new appointee will be expected to function as an integral member of the trauma multi-disciplinary team based at based at Barts Health and will have opportunities to attend out-reach clinics in our spoke hospitals. As a major trauma centre (MTC), we see the highest level of open tibial fractures in London and this post holder will be responsible for working alongside our orthopaedic colleagues to deliver the best outcomes for these patients.
You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council and preferably be on the Specialist Registrar, or equivalent.
