Job summary
The Pharmacy Department at Barts Health covers a population of 2.5 million. We provide medicines management and medicines optimisation services from our four hospital sites across the City of London and East London.
We require an experienced individual with drive, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and an ability to work under pressure. You should be a team player, able to perform effectively within the pharmacy and wider healthcare settings.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing an accurate and efficient service in the pharmacy dispensary including supporting the Senior Pharmacy Technician in managing a busy department. This role will also include rotations on the Royal London Hospital site to rotate through the main dispensary, Satellite Dispensary and Medicines Management.

For this role you are required to be registered with the General pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You should have experience within an inpatient hospital dispensing setting and experience in Supervising and training. You will also be required to hold or be working towards an accredited checking accreditation.
Main duties of the job
This is a rotational post which provides the post holder with the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, good work ethics and attitude following a guided programme of learning.The post holder will have set objectives for each rotation and be expected to successfully complete the Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) and Medicines Optimisation Programmes(MOP). Pharmacy Technician development is supported and achieved in the rotational programme at all of the rotations in the hospital. Pharmacy Technicians will therefore be expected to work across allarea within the Trust in line with the service needs

To participate in the disposal of expired pharmaceuticals, or appropriate return into stock of previously issued/dispensed items according to standard operating procedures.
