Job summary
The Cardiovascular CAG is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Barts Heart Centre's Cardiology Scheduler. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for the scheduling of admissions through our Cardiology Labs and work closely with the clinical teams in the area and beyond.
The post holder will be required to assist in the running of the admission service and the improvement of services to the scheduling processes to meet the demand of the service.
They are required to make improvements to the service with the guidance of both the Team Leader and Bookings Deputy Delivery Manager, and the clinical teams to improve efficiency and the demand of the service.
To ensure that service requirements are meet and national targets are adhered to.

Booking & Scheduling
Ensure that elective Cardiac lists are compiled and updated on CRS Centre (or any other Trust systems) and reviewed/signed off by the relevant teams/General Management:
- Contact patients to agree with them the date of admission in line with the Patient Access Policy.
- Create a waiting list entry for patients requiring admission.
- Schedule patient appointments ensuring patients are fully booked on CRS and ensure a confirmation letter is sent.
- Book patients in chronological order or in order of clinical urgency.
- Book procedures, ensuring that capacity is proactively and efficiently used.
- Undertake the booking of elective admissions for cancer patients and liaise closely with Cancer pathway co-ordinators to ensure that these are scheduled appropriately within their pathway.
- Book pre assessment appointments, where required by contacting the patient to agree the date of admission in line with POA Guidelines.
- Book new appointments for pre assessment (PAC) at least two weeks before TCI, ensuring that capacity is proactively and efficiently used and patients booked in advance of TCI date.
- Act on clinic outcome forms for pre assessment clinics, by actively checking that all patients have attended their pre assessment clinic and ensure that outcomes have been dealt with in a timely manner, ensure that these outcomes are reflected on the Lab list and PTL.
- Ensure that all communication with patients have been logged onto the Trust computer system
- Meet with Cath Lab managers/Consultants to ensure that the Lab list is adequately filled to capacity for the forth coming weeks.
- Ensure that all cancellations and rebooking of patients are dealt with in emergency situations (Lab closure/emergencies overtaking list etc.)
- Utilise lab lists to the maximum
