Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available in the Whipps Cross Hospital Endoscopy unit for a highly motivated forward thinking and enthusiastic Endoscopy Clinical Nurse specialist. You will be already experienced working in Endoscopy services with sound clinical background and able to display independent practice in upper and/or lower GI endoscopy.
Consideration will be given to candidates with essential criteria without endoscopy qualifications to partake in a training program to become a Clinical Nurse specialist
The Medical Directorate consists of Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Infection Control, Stroke Rehabilitation, Cardiology, Palliative Care, Elderly Care with specialist areas such as Frailty and Falls/Syncopy,
Main duties of the job
The provision of a high standard of individualised holistic patient care to all patients attending the endoscopy unit and Gastroenterology Service.
Performing endoscopy procedures: which may include upper and/or lower GI endoscopy and to work as part of a large multidisciplinary team.
Attendance at MDT meetings in colorectal, HPB and upper GI.
Audit and self-assessment, involvement in the capsule endoscopy service, and work with the Senior Staff in the unit towards JAG accreditation.
Training other trainee Endoscopist's within the service and endoscopy nurses.
