An exciting new position is available for motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to join the Sleep and Respiratory Physiology team in the role of Clinical Paediatric Sleep Physiologist at the Children's Sleep and Respiratory Service (Royal London Children's Hospital).We are part of the paediatric respiratory service which employs a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of childhood respiratory disorders. We are a rapidly expanding team that encourages career growth and progression. We provide diagnostics and therapies for respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders via cardiorespiratory and polysomnography sleep studies, MSLTs, actigraphy, oximetry, Physiologist/NIV led clinics, and Sleep consultations.The post holder should have excellent communication skills to work as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team (doctors, CNS, ward nurses, dieticians,physiotherapists, psychologists, and scientists). The successful candidate will have proven experience of lung function in children, be able to work independently, participate in the running and expansion of the service and contribute to on-going research projects.As part of your role within a large, vibrant MDT you will attend meetings, seminars, and videos conferences to develop your understanding of childhood respiratory and sleep physiology. You will be supported to attend conferences especially if presenting current research and to courses to further develop skills in sleep and lung function.
Main duties of the job
This role provides a secure opportunity to employ and develop a solid understanding of Respiratory and sleep physiology, predominantly lung function, whilst learning the necessary skills required to becoming a key and valued member of the team. A willingness to learn and progress through our service will prove critical to any successful applicant.The band 6 post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team towards the diagnosis and treatment of paediatric respiratory and sleep disorders and contribute to and maintain excellent standards of patient care and clinical practice.
