St Bartholomew's Hospital is part of the Bart's Health group of hospitals that serves an area that is rich in diversity, providing services to a broad and diverse multicultural community for people living in East London and beyond. It is an internationally renowned teaching Hospital which offers a full range of local and specialist services for the treatment of cancer , heart conditions, fertility problems and endocrinology conditions.
We do not offer A&E services. Admissions to the ward are either direct admissions using the emergency pathway, elective from home, in-patient transfers from our referring hospitals, or admissions from the out-patients department.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants with excellent communication skills and the ability to work using your own initiative as well as working effectively within a team. The state-of-the-art Bart's Heart Centre is located in King George V wing of the Hospital, we currently have vacancies in 4B Ward. This ward is a busy 20 bedded Cardiothoracic surgical ward specialising in preoperative and postoperative surgical patients. Patients are routinely admitted for scheduled cardiac surgery or transferred from other hospitals as we are a leading specialised cardiac centre.
Main duties of the job
To provide support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals by assisting with patients care (always under direct supervision) and providing other support and administrative services.
The Nursing Assistant works under the direction and supervision of qualified nurses to deliver aspects of care within the boundaries of their assessed competencies.
To take a major role in the timely provision of clean and equipped patient bed areas.
To assist in the maintenance of a safe, healthy and hygienic environment.
