We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our nationally commissioned regional Allergy service, based in the Respiratory Department at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
The post holder will work alongside Dr Runa Ali, Clinical Lead for Allergy, Dr Bryan Fernandes, Allergy Consultant and Dr Paul Pfeffer, Consultant in Difficult Asthma, five specialist nurses, a highly specialised pharmacist, two specialist dieticians and two patient co-ordinators to provide full multidisciplinary day-case, in-patient and out-patient care for adults with allergies.
This post has come about due to increasing numbers of cardiac, cancer and anaesthetic patients needing urgent inpatient and outpatient drug allergy testing throughout North East London, Barking, Havering and Redbridge. The post-holder will focus on drug allergy challenges, in particular running a new de-labelling service and providing urgent drug challenges, in addition to contributing to general allergy referrals. The post is based at the St Bartholomew's Hospital site as part of the Department of Respiratory Medicine and will also involve supervision of Allergy & Clinical Immunology and Respiratory trainees.
