Newham serves one of the most diverse populations in the country. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and skilled Band 6 nurses to join our team of dedicated staff. We are a fast moving acute surgical ward aiming to provide gold standard care to patients having undergone General Surgical procedures including those stepping down from Intensive care unit so there is a vast amount of skills to be learnt. We also offer a band 6 development programme to deputy managers.
The successful candidates will support ward manager and junior staff to ensure the delivery of high standards of evidence based care within an acute surgical wards. For any enquiries or an informal visit please contact:
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of care to meet patient needs and Unit objectives.
The post holder must demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care using an holistic approach.
The post holder must possess fundamental management and facilitation skills in order to co-ordinate and supervise the activity of Unit staff, promote multi-disciplinary working and foster a supportive, learning environment.
In the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse the post holder will assume responsibility for the effective operation of the Unit.
As a Registered Nurse the post holder is expected to consistently act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
