The Royal London Dental hospital is a leading renowned teaching hospital based in East London. A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Radiographer to lead dental imaging within the Royal London Dental Hospital. The dental imaging department has 2 Cone Beam CT scanners with 11 dental rooms and numerous mobiles used both on clinic and in theaters.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious and motivated Senior Radiographer specialising in Dental Radiography at The Royal London Hospital, in a full-time permanent post. Candidates will have good dental radiographic experience, be resilient, compassionate, flexible and able to demonstrate leadership and clinical supervision skills. The post holder will lead the imaging service and provide comprehensive training and support to rotational radiographers. The successful candidate will lead a team of 4 specialist dental radiographer and also support the rotational radiographer who come through the department from the main imaging department.
Experience in dental imaging is essential but experience of leading and running an imaging department is desirable.
Main duties of the job
- To support and assist the imaging staff in the day-to-day delivery of high quality service provision within the department.
- Ensure the department is run efficiently and effectively and that all departmental needs are met.
- To provide high quality support to clinicians and ensure that the standard of all dental imaging is of the highest order and in line with Trust Policies and Procedures
- Support the imaging staff in ensuring that both Qualified radiographers/nurses and Students undertake structured departmental practical training and Continuing Professional Development in line with current training curriculums and legislation
- Provide direct line management to band 6/7 radiographers including, sickness management, annual leave, appraisal, performance management and day to day management of their welfare.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the department specialism
- Champion service improvement.
- Responsibility for designated areas of clinical operations and other areas of activity as required
- Provide support to the in the recruitment process where appropriate.
- Conduct infection control audits for your clinical area and act on findings
- Carry out and upload hand hygiene audits
- Act as first line contact for patients complaints as necessary
