Job summary
The appointee will work alongside the existing junior doctors, under the supervision of the Major Trauma Consultants, to care for those patients who are brought to the Royal London Hospital as a result of a major trauma call. The post holders will be responsible for attending trauma calls, admitting trauma patients and for managing these patients on the Major Trauma Ward until the patient's condition allows for safe transfer to other wards, units and hospitals under single specialties.
Main duties of the job
? Involvement in day-to-day inpatient management under the direction of the trauma surgeon of the week.? Pre & post-operative management of all trauma cases? Preparing and presenting cases for the Multidisciplinary Team Meeting (MDT)? Performance of duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant, in consultation where practical, with both senior and junior colleagues
