We are currently recruiting two positions.
Barts Life Sciences is our programme for using research, innovation and technologies to transform health and care services. This covers a broad range of activities from discovery science, product development and testing, and the application of new technology. Life sciences in Whitechapel is firmly based on the principles of partnership and collaboration, with patients, a large number of highly engaged primary care providers, a wide range of commercial and other academic partners, local government and the local community. These partnerships will be founded on a common ambition and desire to achieve profound health, economic and social benefit for the people of east London, the UK, and internationally.
Main duties of the job
This role is for a talented innovation manager with experience in managing and delivering innovation within life sciences. Post-holders will have an interest in life sciences, in particular the use of informatics and necessary governance procedures to support digital innovation and research, within an NHS setting. This role requires an individual with excellent communication, management, strong planning and established leadership skills to drive programmes, projects and products forward and facilitate collaborations in a highly complex environment.

- Professional background with undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification ideally in health-related subject
- We are open to those without a formal education route. However, relevant expertise must be able to be demonstrated. NHS, research, or clinical experience must be demonstrated.
Desirable
- PhD related to life sciences.
- Masters level in life sciences or equivalent experience

- Skilled team member, experience of working under pressure
- Experience of working with senior teams - strategy development and implementation
- Effective management of large complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Understand IP processes and the importance of these in innovation development
- A track record of delivering successful projects to time and budget
