Job summary
End of Life Care Education FacilitatorWe are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a secondment for Maternity Cover. This post is a nine month fixed term / secondment offer. You must obtain permission from your current line manager. This post is for an end of life care education facilitator. Applications are invited from experienced and motivated individuals. The post holder will be based within St Bartholomew's and Newham Hospitals. We want you to have an exciting and rewarding secondment opportunity. We provide all our staff with excellent education, training and development support. Our top priority is to ensure the safety and quality of services for our patients and we will invest in you to achieve our ambition.We are looking for a dynamic, motivated nurse to undertake this role to work within the existing end of life care education team. You will work alongside staff to ensure that people with specialist palliative and end of life care needs are in receipt of the care they require to achieve the best outcomes.This post holder will support the delivery of our education strategy and provide efficient and high-quality evidence based education to a multi professional workforce which reflects current best practice.Please contact us to discuss further if you are interested in a nursing career involving education and passionate about Palliative and End of Life
Main duties of the job
This is a senior nursing post which combines clinical, educational, audit, research, and managerial skills to promote end of life care within Barts Health NHS Trust. Barts Health NHS Trust provides palliative care teams at Whipps Cross, Newham, St Bartholomew's, Royal London and Mile End Hospitals. The post holder will provide an educational resource to both the generic and specialist work force across St Bartholomew's Newham Hospital. The post holder will be integrated into the clinical team with a patient facing role and is expected to participate in the 7 day rota. This post is key in the transformation of end of life care within the trust. It will support patients and carers by providing learning and development opportunities for our staff based on the most up to date evidence in caring for those in their last year of life. The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication skills especially relating to difficult conversations and will support the work force by building on learning opportunities across all settings. This learning will include being a role model, demonstrating varied strategies to enhance the patient and carer experience at end of life. The post holder is required to work both independently and within a team to ensure the continued development of a high quality care service for the benefit of all patients requiring end of life care.
