The Team of midwives will work collaboratively with the MDT, to support women during the intrapartum and inpatient period. The Ruby Team Caseloads and provides Midwifery Care to women who suffer with Moderate to Severe Mental Health Issues, Victims of DomesticAbuse, Teenage Pregnancies, Learning Disabilities, Asylum Seekers with no support, Substance Misuse, Complex Safeguarding Issues etc.

Main duties of the job

To provide safe and effective midwifery care to vulnerable women whilst working in partnership within a multidisciplinary team. This team includes the Specialist Safeguarding Midwife, Specialist Midwife for Perinatal Mental Health, Specialist Midwife for Substance Misuse, Social Services, The Perinatal Mental Health Team, Obstetric and Psychiatric Consultants, Health Visitors, Family Nurses, Neonatal Consultants and Neonatal Nurses. To ensure comprehensive, compassionate, and enhanced midwifery care to vulnerable clients while providing the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in alongside the multidisciplinary team.

This is an opportunity to work within a team supporting vulnerable pregnant women. The teamwork at Whipps Cross Hospital, in community settings, at local children's centers and visit their homes. The Ruby Team supports vulnerable women in the Intrapartum period who are experiencing or have experienced the following: Moderate to Severe Mental Health Issues, Domestic Abuse, Teenage Pregnancies, Learning Disabilities, Asylum Seekers, Substance Misuse, Complex Safeguarding Issues etc.
