Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our dynamic team providing acute and inpatient general internal medicine, to the residents on Newham. This full time locum FY1 post will be available from 8th May 2023 - 3rd August 2023. The successful applicant will be affiliated with the Respiratory Medicine department offering inpatient medical care on a ward based system. The team contributes to the acute on call for the hospital which serves London Borough of Newham with a catchment population of 260,000.

Main duties of the job

The doctor will generally be based on the wards delivering the daily care of medical inpatients under the team, with the support of the Speciality consultant, Specialist Registrar and Foundation trainees. They will also be expected to contribute to the hospital on call rota where they will be responsible for the clerking, assessment and management of patients referred to Acute Medicine, as well as providing continuing care for patients on the wards. If desired, there is an opportunity to attend Speciality clinics.

There are a variety of educational meetings within the department and within the hospital which the successful candidate would be expected to attend.
