Job summary
An exciting band 6 acute respiratory care physiotherapist opportunity has arisen at Newham Hospital. The post holder will work across the newly expanded critical care unit and respiratory wards.
The post holder will work alongside the growing therapy team which included band 7 physiotherapists and occupational therapists and a newly developed clinical specialist physiotherapy 8a post.
You will manage acute respiratory patients including those ventilated, on NIV and with tracheostomies. You will lead the early rehabilitation of critically unwell patients.
You will work with the respiratory therapy team to support the development of ward based MDT skills of acute respiratory management, Optiflow, Non-Invasive ventilation, Tracheostomy management and deep suctioning.
This post offers a unique challenge for a highly motivated physiotherapist who is keen to specialise in respiratory. This is a Newham Hospital based role.
You will attend internal and external courses and participate in the supervision of students and more junior staff.

- To participate in evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice, within each rotation. - Post registration experience in relevant clinical settings: Respiratory, Neurology, Surgery, MSK.
- Documented evidence of CPD, in accordance with HCPC recommendations
- Experience of working as part of a multi- disciplinary team.
- Experience of audit/research.
- Experience of sole working as part of an emergency out of hours service
- To have had relevant NHS or similar experience.
