Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Bartholomew's Hospital for a fixed term (18months) post as the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in Adult Cystic Fibrosis and Non CF Bronchiectasis. You will be passionate about managing and treating patients with CF and Bronchiectasis and leading a multi professional therapies team to deliver excellent, evidence-based care to achieve person centered outcomes

You will be part of a specialized Multi- disciplinary team, based at St Bartholomew's Hospital, working with people during their acute admission, across outpatient clinics, and at time within their own homes and communicates.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership for the physiotherapists across Barts Health NHS Trust working with adult CF and bronchiectasis. They will support with specialist assessment and treatment delivery to adults as in patients, out patients including clinics and in the community, as well as providing leadership in the development of service improvement projects.

There is an established network within Therapies to provide you with support in this post. The post holder will be expected to collate data for ongoing business planning with the aim of this post being substantiated.

Job responsibilities

To act as a clinical lead for Bart Health Adult Cystic Fibrosis and Bronchiectasis team and provide expert clinical assessment, treatment, prognosis and advice to a highly complex and diverse range of patients within the team.

To act as a highly skilled and expert acute clinical resource to all other staff within the Respiratory team, directorate and Trust with regards to Adult Cystic Fibrosis and other areas of respiratory medicine

To work jointly with the other Respiratory clinical lead to lead the Bart Respiratory team comprising personnel with a wide variety of skills and experience.

To be responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery, evaluation and support of the therapy service for the Respiratory Team. This will include the management of specialist rotations.

To deputise and support fellow therapy team leads, Barts Health Deputy Head of Therapies and Head of Therapies as required

To ensure effective communication within own team, across speciality and all other appropriate professional groups

To be responsible for aspects of the budget e.g. signing for stock and non-stock orders and other appropriate invoices

To be responsible for the continuing development of a comprehensive training and development programme for all members of the Respiratory Team and Multi-Disciplinary Team on the therapeutic management of patients with respiratory l conditions. This includes supporting the training and development needs of non-specialist therapy staff.

Provide clinical leadership to the Bart Health Respiratory team including clinical audit and development of clinical services in line with patient need, identified by audits and recent evidence base research.

Take a role in identifying research need in the Respiratory service and develop a research and evidence base practice culture within the service in conjunction with other senior members of the team.

To provide effective and innovative leadership to the Respiratory Team to enable the development of the service in line with the Teams vision, purpose and objectives.

To be a resource for other therapy team members when encountering complex and/or problematic clinical situations that need immediate clinical input and provide advice on the on-going management of such patients.
