Main duties of the job

Barts Health NHS Trust is looking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual to be part of the Trust's Reporting Technology team within the Business Intelligence Unit (BIU) for running and maintaining data loads and reports.

The post holder will be tasked with supporting the Trust's Integrated Performance Reporting, including the data loading and reporting process, documentation and troubleshooting and resolving data and reporting issues. We are in the process of developing a centralised reporting database. The post holder will be tasked with supporting the build of this database.

We are also embarking on a project to build performance report in QlikSense, making it an exciting time for anyone wanting to upskill or become part of the Center of Excellence. The post holder will be involved in supporting this project.

This role will require engaging with other teams to support the reporting infrastructure and to review, monitor and constantly look at improving data quality.

This is a pivotal post in the Trust, helping to improving brand consistency, accuracy and end user experience

The Business Intelligence Unit (BIU) is responsible for providing accurate and consistent information to the Barts Health community. Making data on outpatient attendances, inpatient admissions and other operational information accessible to key decision makers is crucial to improving patient care and running an effective service

  • A minimum of three years' experience working within Healthcare Informatics environment.
  • Experience of NHS acute Trust computer/information systems (Data warehouse, PAS).

  • Detailed knowledge of the NHS data dictionary and its application.
  • Ability to write detailed queries in SQL server, investigate and resolve complex queries, issues and problems.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Excel
