We are delighted to invite applications for a 2 year locum consultant post in Paediatric Allergy.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing Paediatric Allergy team. The post will be based at the Royal London and the post holder will join the existing team in outpatient clinical management, daycare, in-patient review and the overall provision of care for children with complex multisystem allergic disease. The successful candidates will join a highly motivated, consultant led team delivering high quality paediatric care to Tower Hamlets & East London.

Main duties of the job

Our service also provides food/drug challenge service, complex drug allergy testing and intravenous challenges, immunotherapy (sublingual and subcutaneous) and works closely with the other tertiary speciality services based at the Royal London. Potential outreach, virtual and community clinics within Tower Hamlets and surrounding boroughs will be discussed if this area of interest develops.

We are part of the allergy GRID and SPIN training programme in London and provide educational supervision to trainees. We also provide teaching to medical students, the in-house teaching programme for junior and middle grade trainees as well as more ad hoc teaching for other specialities, Primary Care and allied health professionals.

The paediatric allergy department is based at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. The Children's Hospital Division of the Royal London Hospital manages over 20,000 inpatient spells a year and sees over 22,000 new patients and over 47,000 follow up patients per year in clinic.
