Barts Health NHS Trust (BH) is delighted to offer this opportunity for a full time Consultant Physician in Geriatric and Stroke Medicine based primarily on the Whipps Cross Hospital site. This post is for a fixed term of 12 months.
The successful applicant will provide medical cover for the ASU at Whipps Cross and join a team of consultants covering the HASU at the Royal London one week in 12 as well as out of hours thrombolysis on call one in 8. The two sites for the post are described below.
Whipps Cross University Hospital is situated in Waltham Forest, North East London. The hospital serves a diverse local population of more than 350,000 people from Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Epping Forest and further afield. The area has a wide variation in levels of deprivation and health needs, ranging from the most deprived five per cent to amongst the most affluent 30 per cent of electoral wards in England.

The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with all members of our multi-disciplinary team as well as our colleagues from other specialties. You will help provide the clinical leadership and supervision to our junior medical staff, ensuring that all patients receive high quality care in a timely fashion. The appointee will be expected to take part in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching and Training.
