Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a midwife with Specialist interest in Maternity Services to support the delivery of the postnatal care services.

We aim to ensure that women are at the core of everything we do, and we wrap her care providers, and birth supporters around her as required rather than moving the women to achieve different acuity pathways. We are working continuously towards improving and developing our services to provide care which is in line with the Maternity transformation agenda and key to this is facilitating the implementation of the Saving Babies Lives care bundle version 2.

Main duties of the job

We are passionate about ensuring that every woman and baby that uses our service remembers a positive experience, whilst receiving the safest, high quality care.

We expect standards of professional behavior in accordance with the NMC Code (2015) and the Trust Values, that you will be expected to role model at all times.

This is an exciting and challenging time for all maternity services as we strive to implement the National Maternity Transformation Programme within our local maternity system.

Desirable

  • Prep for Mentorship course or equivalent
  • Working towards BSc
  • Examination of the newborn

  • The ability to communicate with patients in an empathetic manner regarding their treatment and procedures.
  • Ability communicate effectively, both written and oral
  • Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm towards teaching and sharing knowledge
  • Ability to self reflect, carry out tasks of own job and identify what s/he needs to learn to able to do current job better
  • Ability to take an active role in agreed learning activities and keeps a record of them
