Two full-time Consultant posts in Critical Care and Anaesthesia have arisen, based at Whipps Cross Hospital in London.

The post holders will be employees of Barts Health and there may be future opportunities or requirements to work at one of the other hospitals in the Barts Health group.

Main duties of the job

The appointees will be required to participate in the on-call rota.

Critical Care comprises a 9 bedded unit which is currently being refurbished and an 8 bedded unit that opened in January 2017 following a £2.3 million pound refurbishment. There are around 800-900 admissions per year. This is an excellent opportunity for dynamic individuals with the appropriate skills to join a multi-disciplinary team providing a full range of services in a progressive London teaching hospital environment.

Qualifications/Clinical Skills

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration
  • Possession of dual CCT in Intensive Care
  • Evidence of ALS certification and/or update

Desirable

  • Experience of UK healthcare system
  • ATLS. APLS

Special Knowledge/Abilities and/or Experience

Essential

  • Appropriate evidence that the candidate is able to operate at consultant level in a busy DGH ICU
  • Appropriate evidence that the candidate is able to provide theatre anaesthesia at consultant level in a busy DGH setting

Desirable

  • Advanced training in Obstetric Anaesthesia and a subspecialty interest in Maternal Critical Care
