Job summary

We are currently seeking a motivated ophthalmologist to take up the position of senior clinical Ophthalmology fellow for 12 months. This is an important post based at Whipps Cross University Hospital, and we are hoping to recruit an innovative and committed individual. It will provide comprehensive training opportunities in glaucoma and in cataract surgery. There is a 1:8 first on-call commitment. See the job description for further details

Main duties of the job

The post-holder forms part of a team of 10 Consultants supported by an Associate Specialist (1), Clinical Fellows (6) and Specialist Trainees (4).

The post is a 12 month glaucoma fellowship that may be extended for up to 2 years. The post is based primarily at Whipps Cross University Hospital and provides the opportunity to work with the Glaucoma Consultants. The timetable includes a variety of complex glaucoma and cataract clinics and 2-3 theatre sessions. An interest in research is important as the unit has a rapidly developing research unit.

There is a 1:8 first on-call commitment and busy eye casualty sessions.
